Beware! 1and1 saves and pre-authenticates your card details to charge you without your knowledge. You will only know after they already charge your card and you receive the invoice.

I transferred 2 domain names to them for $1 each, they charged me again after 3 months. I cannot understand those charges till date. Even after several emails they did not refund my money. They don’t even remove your cards if you want to keep your domains with them.

I sent them a notice not to charge my card in future but in that case I could not renew or transfer my domains. I ended up getting my domains expired with them

Up time is not good for Freehost ( around 85%)
For Jhoomla / Wordpress u can try Byte Host (8/10 for free hosting ) and best 1 is x10Hosting (Unlimited Mysql DB & Emails + Wordpress/Jhoomla ) But Unfortunately They’re not accepting New Indian/Pak User’s Now

They seem to be redirecting every 404 url (page not found) on your domain to an advertisement landing page, check yours. This is disastrous for any website that wants to be indexed by search engines (Google / Bing). Good for a very very casual site with zero SEO expectations and i doubt their support for apps like WordPress.
